Homer City Pennsylvania

The history of Homer City dates back to the mid 1700s when settlers began to establish homesteads on lands previously owned by six Indian nations. Residents in the late 1700s were mostly Scots-Irish Presbyterians, many of whom worshiped at the Bethel Church organized about 1790.

William Wilson laid out the village in 1854 and named it after the ancient Greek poet, Homer.
